“It’s Halloween; everyone’s entitled to one good scare”. Well… not much of a scare here, but definitely worth checking out when in Pasadena. The “Halloween” house looks just like it did in the 1978 movie, but is now occupied by small businesses facing the Metro Gold Line. While there isn’t a whole lot to do here, other than take a couple cool Instagram pics, the adjoining street has an extremely charming “Main Street USA” vibe.
Park on Mission Street, then either A) grab coffee or ice cream at the cutest little coffee shop, Jones Coffee Roasters or B) walk across the street to TeaMorrow, which offers exceptional teas, Matcha, pastries, and more. As a whole, the entire block is filled with wonderful mom-and-pop stores and the “Halloween” house is just the cherry on top.
While in the area, consider checking out the “Father of the Bride” house, Walsh House from “Beverly Hills 90210”, Huntington Library, the legendary Langham Hotel, and the architecturally revered Gamble House.
Down below is a clip from the film showcasing the house.
