Who knew “plane spotting” was a thing?
Photographing airplanes taking off and landing is quite a popular pastime among aviation enthusiasts – and as it turns out, LAX is one of the best places to do it due to its wide variety of carriers.
Clutter’s Park – not a traditional “grassy” park – is a large strip of sidewalk overlooking the airport’s south runway, where both airline aficionados and looky-loos congregate for an unobstructed view of jet liners taking off, landing, and taxiing.
This is a great spot for a bagged lunch. There’s quite a few built-in benches to enjoy a good meal on, and flight fanatics are typically talkative & likely to educate those interested. Perfect for kids, first-dates, the elderly, and certainly anyone looking to see a loved one depart LA.
