The Broad

Downtown LA

Address: 221 S Grand Ave, Downtown LA, CA

A free, contemporary art museum in Downtown LA featuring prized collections from Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein, Jeff Koons, and many others.

Founded in 2015 by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, the 120,000-square-foot building features two floors of gallery space, a gift shop, and one of the longest escalators in the city.

A few “Instagram-favorite” pieces include Jeff Koons’ Tulips (top row, far left below) & Michael Jackson and Bubbles (top row, far right below), Robert Therrien’s Under the Table, Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room, and David Hammons’ African American Flag.

The Broad’s current collection can be viewed at www.thebroad.org/art/browse and homepage at www.thebroad.org.

While in the area, consider checking out the Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, and these other Best Guide LA Downtown LA sights.
