Los Angeles State Historic Park

Downtown LA

Address: 1245 N Spring St, Downtown LA, CA

Who knew there was a massive, beautiful, 32-acre park just a few blocks east of Chinatown in Downtown LA?!

It’s called Los Angeles State Historic Park and it offers endless open space to run, play, picnic, fly kites, exercise, explore, and more. There’s even a really cool cafe onsite called Cargo Snack Shack – burgers & sandwiches, salads, shakes, etc; view full menu. The park also provides a free, immersive self-guided tour via QR code; see details.

For more information on this excellent recreation area, please visit www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=22272.

Scroll down to watch a short video featuring the park from Center Theatre Group.

While in the area, consider checking out Highland Park Brewery (across the street), Philippe’s “French Dipped Sandwiches” (2 minutes down the street), Chinatown, Union Station, Olvera Street, and these other Best Guide LA Downtown LA sights.
